With the exception of fires used for commercial land clearing and fires used for outdoor cooking conducted for fund raising events or charitable organizations, Gov. Manchin has banned all outdoor burning as of Saturday, April 10, 2010. The ban will remain in effect until such time that it is lifted by the Governor. 

The Division of Forestry states that the number of fires has increased from 108 to 283 since April 1 and that escaping debris from outdoor burning is blamed in 42 percent of the fires.

In addition, grills, lanterns and liquid fueled gas fire stoves are also exempt from the ban.  Updates will be posted as soon as they are received, please check back often.
